Efficient, durable, proven for decades

ADSORBENTS & CATALYSTS

For a wide range of applications we supply catalysts and adsorbents exclusively from well-known European and American manufacturers with whom we have been working closely for several decades. We ensure consistently high quality by testing regularly in an independent laboratory.

Our experienced process engineers support you to select suitable catalysts or adsorbents.

Type  N / WS / Orange

SILSORP Gel is an amorphous silicon dioxide, also known as silica gel. It is chemically neutral and resistant to most acids, but is attacked by lyes.

To minimize pressure loss and abrasion, we supply SILSORP Gel in spherical form.

SILSORP Gel N high water vapor absorption, not water resistant

SILSORP Gel WS lower water vapor absorption capacity, but waterproof; often used as a protective layer in front of SILSORP Gel N

SILSORP Gel Orange with indicator, discolours when water vapor is absorbed, not waterproof.

APPLICATION: Drying of air, gases and organic liquids. With silica gel residual humidity up to a dew point of – 65°C can be achieved.

Type  A

Our SILSORP Gel A is a spherical aluminum oxide gel, also called activated alumina or aluminum gel.

Unlike silica gel, it is insensitive to alkaline/basic contaminants, but does not tolerate acids. Alu-Gel is relatively resistant to water in liquid form.

APPLICATION: Drying of air, gases and organic liquids, especially in the presence of alkaline impurities or with unsaturated hydrocarbons.

SILSORP Sieve comprises different types and sizes of molecular sieves or zeolites.

Molecular sieves are characterized by a defined pore size. This makes it possible to absorb molecules of a certain size, while allowing others to pass through.

Molecular sieves still have a very good water absorption capacity even at higher temperatures and at low relative humidity, whereby very low residual moisture contents of well below 1 ppm can be achieved.

APPLICATION: Extreme drying of air, gases and organic liquids, gas purification by selective adsorption, separation of gas mixtures via PSA plants.

With SILSORP Carbon we offer different types of activated carbon in pellet form with different pore sizes and bulk densities. Activated carbon is produced, among other things, from wood, coconut or hard coal by chemical activation or by gas activation. Raw product and manufacturing process have a significant influence on the characteristics of the activated carbon. We also offer surface-modified activated carbons for special separation requirements.

The activated carbons we select are characterised by low abrasion, exceptional hardness and very low ash content. We ensure consistently high quality by regular analyses in an independent laboratory.

APPLICATION: Exhaust air purification and solvent recovery, removal of specific components from gases and liquids.

The use of catalysts is essential for the removal of impurities and the achievement of the highest purity of technical gases.

The SILSORP Cat catalysts used in our gas purification plants consist of a spherical or cylindrical  support material made of aluminum oxide and are coated with e.g. platinum or palladium.

APPLICATION: Hydrogen purification, oxygen removal, removal of impurities from process gases.
